Uncle Leon and the Alibis are currently booking our 2010 summer tour.
We are a completely do-it-yourself operation. We book all our own shows, haul our own equipment, sell our own T-shirts, buy our own gas, and otherwise dig into our own pockets to make this happen. We rely heavily on the kindness of strangers, whether it's in the form of door money, lodging, food and drink, or just your knowledge of the local music scene.
All it takes is one reliable, communicative person with a few local contacts to make a great show happen for us. Could that be you?
We like to play roller derby events, house parties, and small bar shows.
We prefer to be on a bill with bands that are at least remotely similar in sound and style to us.
(Cowpunk, Rockabilly, Alt-country, and general Rock'n'Roll = Good.
Hardcore, Hip-Hop, Prog-Rock, Techno, or anything that sounds like Joni Mitchell = Not so terrific.)
We are fun-loving, we show up on time, and we always do our best to kick ass, regardless of how big or small the crowd is. And we're pretty damn cheap.
We're also on the lookout for free places to stay in the towns we play in. Beds, couches, beanbags, floors, haylofts... We play nice and we don't make messes. Character references are available upon request.
